February/March – Butler County Administration/Government – plan a day with the Butler County Commission and departments of Butler County. The Youth and Adult programs participate, as well as the Alumni membership
Quarterly – “Leadership Series…Breakfasts” – held in various locations throughout Butler County, focusing on different leadership theories and practices. Provide continuing education in leadership development. Offering Continuing Education credits if needed or wanted. In 2012, the Leadership Butler Alumni Association held 2 focus group conversations to gain more insight as to the need of continuing education.
May – Nominee Reception – To provide a personal level encouragement to all nominees for the adult program. One or two past participants are asked to provide testimonials and those in positions of authority in all programs give a brief presentation on what is expected. This provides nominees the opportunity to ask questions before the applications are due.
August-November – Class session facilitators – Previous class members for the adult program are responsible for facilitating the next class sessions – this puts members in action right away. Alumni members also plan and implement the Youth Leadership Butler Class sessions.
August – Welcome Picnic – The Alumni Association Committee sponsors and plans a picnic on the first night of the adult Opening Retreat. This allows the opportunity for Alumni members to meet and interact with the new class participants.
September-December – Youth Program Mentors – The Alumni Members will provide mentorship to the Youth Leadership Butler Class participants on their class project. To be a resource for them to complete their project in a timely manner.
September-October – Awards and Recognitions
OUTSTANDING VOLUNTEER ALUMNI AWARD – nominations are taken from LB
Alumni members. The criteria for this award are for an Alumni member who
provides service to their profession AND service to their community
SERVANT LEADERSHIP AWARD – Nominations are taken from the general public
and this award recipient is open to any individual in Butler County who show
exemplary servant leadership qualities – someone who genuinely goes above and
beyond for their organizations and communities.
November – Adult Class Graduation Ceremonies - The Alumni Association committee plans and implements the Celebration for the class. A speaker is determined and notified by the Alumni Association Committee
Facilitation/Consulting/Presenting: Members of the Alumni Association Committee assist with any business or organization requesting consulting/facilitation services for their group. Generally the Executive Director will team up with a member for the consulting. The Alumni Association Committee also goes to different clubs/organizations to talk about the Leadership Butler program.
