About Leadership Butler, Inc.
Leadership Butler, Inc. is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization that began with its first adult class in 1988. The purpose then and today is to bring individuals in Butler County together to learn more about each community's daunting civic challenges and how they can make a difference. Leadership Butler, Inc. provides skill and capacity training with tools to meet the those challenges, while empowering individuals to exercise leadership within Butler County communities. The organization has three programs. The Adult program, the Youth program and the Alumni Association.
Leadership Butler is a diverse organization: over 500 individuals across Butler County have participated in the adult program and over 400 with the youth program. Funding for the organization comes from businesses, graduates and private donations as well as a grant from Butler County. The classes of youth and adult are the main focus of Leadership Butler but the organization also offers opportunities for others in the county to learn about issues, leadership development, and facilitation/consulting services. Leadership Butler is governed by an eleven member Board of Trustees and is staffed by one part time Executive Director.

Jennifer Stanyer became the Executive Director in January of 2015. A graduate of the Leadership Butler Class of 2010, she found her experience with Leadership Butler to be invaluable in both her personal and professional life. She is excited about being more involved with Leadership Butler and serving the county and the wonderful individuals that live and work here.
An Emporia State University graduate, Jennifer holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Rehabilitation Services. She has worked in the field of disabilities in both the nonprofit and school setting for over 10 years. She is passionate about working with and assisting others and is excited to apply that passion to leadership development.
Jennifer is married and has two boys that attend Circle schools. She loves being outdoors, spending time with her family,camping, hiking, bike riding and photography.
She enjoys volunteering at her children's school and church, being part of the bell choir, Christian Education Committee and C.A.R.D.S ministry at church and looks for volunteer opportunities where she can help others and make a difference.
